Quadrus Corporation is an engineering firm with operations in military, civilian, and commercial aerospace. Since 1995, Quadrus Corporation has been a respected provider of highly technical services in software, electrical, mechanical, integration, instrumentation, telemetry, and test engineering to large-scale space and military systems development programs. We provide both custom and Commercial Off The Shelf software solutions including our GenITC simulation / integration / test communications tool. Our Advanced Manufacturing division offers propulsion parts and build-to-print additive manufacturing of other mission-critical metal parts. Our Smart Cities division offers IoT, data acquisition and analysis, system architecture, sustainability, and consulting services. Jan Eiras is the President and CEO of Quadrus Corporation, an engineering and technology firm headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama. Quadrus Corporation provides Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Integration, and System Test services to Department of Defense, NASA, Commercial Space, and other types of commercial customers, as well as running an active R&D program that has produced several commercially available software and hardware solutions and has garnered a number of patents in software and electrical / green energy systems.

He has over 30 years of experience in software engineering and entrepreneurial enterprises. He began his career working in applications software development for several different industries including financial, securities, psychological assessment, construction, project management, and business management software. He went on to defense and aerospace work where he specialized in embedded real-time systems for guidance, control, and data acquisition and communications.

Mr. Eiras holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida and has done undergraduate and graduate work in diverse fields including business, software engineering, artificial intelligence, and psychology at several different universities. He has been a teacher, speaker, and writer on a variety of entrepreneurial, technical, and non-technical topics.

In 1995, he was a founding partner in Quadrus Corporation. The company has since grown to be a respected provider of technical expertise in Software, Systems, Test, and Integration Engineering and COTS / semi-custom, and custom software tools to government defense and aerospace projects, large defense and aerospace contractors, and private industry in the areas of interface test, data acquisition and analysis, and simulation.

As a member of the Board of Directors for Liquor Group Wholesale, the only publicly traded liquor distributor in the US, Mr. Eiras was directly involved in taking the company public and administering it during his tenure on its board. Mr. Eiras has also served as an expert witness in federal court in matters of software piracy and intellectual property.

Active in the community, he has served on the Board of Directors of HASBAT (Huntsville Association of Small Businesses in Advanced Technology) and spent four years as its President. He served a three-year term as a member of the Board of Directors of the Women’s Business Center of North Alabama. He has also served on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of North Alabama, and as Committee Chair for Boy Scout Troop 7086 in the Talakto District of Alabama. He has also served in the capacity of mentor to several startup companies and as a judge in numerous business plan competitions including for the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) and the Alabama Launch Pad state competition with EDPA.




Greg Murin

Greg Murin
Executive Vice President

Greg Murin is the Executive Vice President for Quadrus Corporation. He joined the company in 2019 from Tampa, Florida as the Director of Operations.

Murin’s roles and responsibilities at Quadrus Corporation include the management of our Internal Research and Development products and prototypes, directing all operation functions, and technology projects. This includes personnel, equipment, supplies, job training, documentation, technical specifications, and regulatory restraints; to ensure policy, process, and procedures are followed and met, while creating efficiencies and growth in the company.

Murin is a United States Air Force Veteran and has certifications in Laser Alignment, Vibration Analysis, Dynamic Balancing, Servo-motor repair and analysis, Frequency Drive Programming and repair, HVAC-R Technician and is a Master Floor Covering Installer. Murin has developed, implemented and maintained multiple databases for several companies.

Murin enjoys the challenges of new opportunities, learning new technology and expanding his knowledge of existing skills. He also enjoys providing technical training. He believes that a broad diversity of skills makes a strong team, ready and capable of taking on a multitude of tasks, challenges and new opportunities.

Murin enjoys his family time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Greg likes playing guitar and is a fan of classic rock and 80’s hits. Whether it’s camping, hiking, fishing or hunting, he enjoys being in the outdoors with his friends and family.




Jay Laughlin

Jay Laughlin
Controller

Jay Laughlin is the Controller at Quadrus Corporation. He joined the company in 2021.

Laughlin grew up in Decatur, Alabama before earning his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Louisiana State University in 2014. He continued on to earn his Master of Accountancy from the University of Alabama in 2015. After spending six years working in public accounting in New Orleans, Laughlin returned to North Alabama and transitioned his skills to the corporate setting.

Since joining Quadrus Corporation, Laughlin has demonstrated nothing short of excellence in facing the challenges that come his way. As well as overseeing the day-to-day financial operations, Laughlin manages all the company’s contracts. Thanks to his hard work and dedication, Laughlin remains a valuable member of the management team.

Outside of the office, Laughlin can be found on the golf course, cheering on the LSU tigers, or spending quality time with his wife and two children.




Patrick McKenzie

Patrick McKenzie
Vice President of Aerospace Business Development

Patrick McKenzie is the Vice President of Aerospace Business Development at Quadrus Corporation. He joined the company in January of 2024.

Mr. McKenzie brings more than 4 decades of Aerospace experience to the job with the past 20 years focused on NASA, DoD, and Commercial business development and capture. His resume includes 23 years with Lockheed Martin, 5 years at Ball Aerospace, 4 years with RUAG Space (now Beyond Gravity), and highly rewarding stints at ASRC Federal, York Space Systems, Spaceflight, Inc. and most recently Firefly Aerospace. Some highlights of his career include serving as capture lead for Lockheed Martin’s successful bid for the Crew Exploration Vehicle (Orion) in 2005-2006, leading RUAG’s support to Dynetics to secure the Universal Stage Adapter (part of NASA’s Space Launch System) contract in 2017 and serving as capture manager for the York Space Systems successful bid on the Space Development Agency Tranche 1 Transport layer competition (2022).

Mr. McKenzie was raised in Northern Virginia and graduated from T.C. Williams (“Remember the Titans”) High School in Alexandria in 1975. He went on to earn a BA in Fine Art from Virginia Tech (1979) and received a Master’s degree in Systems Management (1982) from the University of Southern California while a contractor at Hickam AFB in Honolulu, HI.

During his career, Mr. McKenzie has been affiliated with the AIAA, AAS, and the IAF serving for many years on the Space Transportation committee of the International Astronautical Congress (IAC). He is also a proud “life loyal sig” member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.

When he’s not at work, Mr. McKenzie enjoys movies, zoos, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, reading, playing the guitar, and spending time with his family in Seattle, WA.




Marty Ripper

Engineering Services

Martin Ripper is the Director of Engineering Services for Quadrus Corporation. Ripper also filled the role of Chief Software Engineer and Senior Consultant for the organization. An engineer at heart, Ripper is also responsible for the management of Quadrus Corporation’s field engineering force. As Chief Software Engineer, he oversees software development on our COTS products and some of our IR&D software projects.

As Director of Engineering Services, he is responsible for maintaining the technical excellence of our field engineers and ensuring that our people are performing at the level that our customers have long since come to expect.




Joseph Sims

Joseph Sims, Ph.D.
Director
Advanced Manufacturing

The Advanced Manufacturing Division of Quadrus Corporation will be under the direction of Joseph Sims, PhD. Dr. Sims is an expert in both solid and liquid propulsion and has developed into a leader in the application of the selective laser melting to rocket propulsion systems.

Dr. Sims has supported liquid propulsion system technology development including deeply throttling aerospike engineer, jet impingement-cooled combustion chamber, ohmic heating igniter, low cost high temperature thruster, ionic liquid monopropellant, ultralight weight combustion chamber, tactical propellant delivery system, and modular aerospike engine for TBM targets.

Additionally, Dr. Sims solid propulsion development experience includes double base propellant stabilization, ultralow temperature operable solid propellant, solid rocket motor fluid structure interaction analysis, tactical countermeasure attitude control motors, thruster nozzles for solid DACs, and a solid roll control system for Minuteman III. Throughout his career he has been instrumental in resolving customer challenges. His range of achievements run from participation in a major propulsion system trade study for the International Space Station to rocket test integration and data analysis to conceptually designing a new staged combustion hybrid upper stage engine and upper stage for VentureStar.

Dr. Sims was awarded his B.S. (’95), M.S. (’00), and Ph.D. (’05) degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Alabama, Huntsville. Dr. Sims has been active in submitting articles and papers to professional organizations and has been published in the Journal of Propulsion and Power and the Journal of Spacecraft and Rockets. Dr. Sims has been recognized for his expertise in solid rocket motor propulsion and has presented in numerous conferences such as the North American Thermal Analysis Symposium, JANNAF propulsion meetings, and Joint Propulsion Conference for AIAA. Dr. Sims has recognized as the Young Aerospace Engineer of the Year with AIAA (2000), Martin Schilling Award with AIAA (2005), Associate Fellow with AIAA (2009), and Technical Fellow with ASRC Fellow (2015).
